I think all we spend wayyyy too much time thinking about what we should be doing in life rather than actually appreciating what we have going on right now.
It’s good to have a life plan to know where you want to end up and to set yourself goals but you really need to start enjoying life now!
I was chatting to my mate last night who has an incredible job but works too many hours to enjoy it as she’s always stressed out which leads to her getting absolutely hammered every weekend. It’s a really bad circle one that’s hard to get out of because you end up living for the weekend spunking all your money on alcohol and then regretting it all on Monday when you’re still feeling rough and angry that you wasted a whole Sunday on the sofa in your onesie nursing a hangover.
Anyway, I told her if she doesn’t enjoy her job you have to leave. You work pretty much most of your life, we do it 5-6 days a week so if you hate it why are you there wasting your life?
Living for the now will help you enjoy the life you have, it will create a better environment for you to do the things you want and help you achieve your goals.
This goes for dieting as well, we all wanna be fit and healthy and look great but keeping to a strict diet is actually quite boring cutting down on the bad things is way better than dieting. We live once for crying out loud If you want a pizza with cheese stuffed crust with your mates, go and treat yourself ( you might wanna go for a 20 minute run the following morning tho ) ha only joking, but you get what I’m saying right?
Stress is a killer, It can seriously damage your health, so having as little of it as possible is the best. It’s the small things like someone pushing you back on the tube not allowing you to get off first, I hate this it winds me up like crazy I’ve kicked off a few times but TRY NOT TOO because creating more anger and stress is like a disease it just spreads to everyone else that’s near you.
Take time to do the things you love whether it’s yoga, martial arts having your nails done? Playing with your dogs, Running, sky diving … whatever it is, surround yourself with things you love and people that you love.
